It is hard to believe that we are actually in the middle of winter with temperatures hovering around 80 degrees this past week. Sunny weather and glistening muscle cars go hand-in-hand, and what better than to pull your prize winning classic out of storage and hit some local hot spots for some fun in the sun.
If you are like most enthusiasts, driving your car in inclement weather is not an option. The thought of wet roads, mud and rainwater slathered over your show-winning finish is downright sickening. However, Mother Nature provides sympathetic windows of opportunity to enjoy our indulgences, so why not pull the winter cover off your hot rod, shine it up and hit the road for a day trip or local car show.
Warm weather also means you can take some time to work on your classic ride or muscle car. Fortunately, local supply shops such as Original Parts Group and Classic Industries in Los Angeles and Orange County are open Saturdays for necessary parts, accessories and friendly advice.
If you find that your Saturday is spent buffing, waxing and wrenching on your beloved treasure, have no fear, there is still time to enjoy this bizarre patch of warm sunshine. The Million Dollar Breakfast Club will be hosting their Sunday meet and greet at Starbucks, located in the Waterside shopping center in Marina Del Rey. Or, if you do not mind a nice jaunt up the 101 freeway, you can enjoy Super Car Sunday in Woodland Hills from 7am to 10am this Sunday.
Whether you are working on your car or bringing it out of hibernation for a brief interlude this weekend, get out there and enjoy the sunny weather. Nothing is more fun than cruising to local hot spots or driving down Pacific Coast Highway with the top down and stereo blaring – even if it is the middle of winter. ‘Hey, nice weather is nice weather.’
