Super Bowl Sunday! It’s coming up in three days. February 6 is the day.
Butcher’s Block (1600 King St., Alexandria, 703/894-5253) and Jackson 20 (480 King St., Alexandria, 703/842-2790) have some restaurant quality party fare that you can order for your party.
At Butcher’s Block, Chef Robert Wiedmaier’s staff has merguez sausages, baked beans with applewood smoked bacon, and chicken available for pick-up. Chicken wings (spicy, barbecue or Asian) are available at $4 per pound; St. Louis ribs are $8.50 per pound; chili is $15 per quart and “mac and cheese” is $20 for an eight person serving. Hurry to place your order for pick-up on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
At Jackson 20, Chef Dennis Marron will serve a special Super Bowl Sunday menu in the restaurant’s tavern and bar. The menu will be available from 5 p.m. until closing on February 6, and guests can choose from several $20.11 menus, such as “burger, beer and brownie” or “all-you-can eat barbecued pork ribs.”
If you like Sunday celebrations, on the following Sunday, February 13, an outdoor extravaganza will take place at Bourbon Steak (Four Seasons Hotel, 2800 Pennsylvania Ave.NW, 202/944-2026). The Winter Wonderland party will take place from noon to 3 p.m. in the restaurant’s patio, which will be outfitted with fire pits and heaters to keep everyone warm and toasty. The special menu, priced at $70 per person, inclusive of tax and gratuity, will include red wine braised short ribs, barbecue pork, mac and cheese, and squash pierogies with chive crème fraiche. Winter cocktails such as hot toddies, warm cider, spiked hot chocolate and buttered rum will be served.
