Most Miamiams spend the summer sporting beautiful bronze tans in pastel colored clothing. It is a look of health that wants to be kept all year long. However during the cooler months of the year the sun is not as strong and the beach is not as attractive for beach goers. The temperature of the water leaves alot to be desired.
So the tan fades with the memory of summer. But it doesn’t have to. Tans can be extended with self tanners, tanning beds and spray tans. But which one of these are better for the skin, convenient and cost effective. Let’s look at the options.
Self tanners these days are not like the ones of yesteryear. Now there are products that look as natural as the real thing. Applying self tanners are the most inexpensive and the easiest way to build a tan. The first thing you must do is exfoliate, to assure the tan is even and beautiful. My recommendations are Tan Towels. Tan Towels have been around for a long time and expanding their line. They are almost mistake proof since each towel packet has the right amount of product for the face and body. Added are exfoliating towels and moisturizing products to prolong your tan.
One of my other favorite are spray tans you can do yourself. These are easy and the secret to these is to spray from at least six inches away from the skin for an even tan. Otherwise you will get blotches. My favorite is Body Drench Spray Tan.
Tanning beds are quick, all you need is 10 to 15 minutes. Though it looks great it is also very damaging to the skin. Melanoma (skin cancer) is more popular then ever and even with natural sun you have to watch the time you spend exposed. The truth is tanning beds cause much more damage and are more costly.
If you can spend the money and go to a tanning salon, opt for the stand up spray tans that give an even and safe tan. You also end up with no tan lines if you spray your whole body. But just like any self tan make sure the product is completely absorbed into the skin before putting your clothes on.
I learned that the hard way.
