Last week, it was “Two Steps Forward,” and this week is “One Step Back.” Oh, these teen moms and their drama – where to begin?
Chelsea and Adam hadn’t been talking for the last two weeks, and Chelsea received a letter in the mail saying a court date had been set for him to go because he hadn’t paid any child support. This fool owed $2,109.45. Pay up, pal. During lunch with her father, “Randallicious,” Chelsea talked about it being hard to study for the GED with Aubree around, how she felt like it was her fault for the break-up with Adam, and she showed him the letter about court.
Kailyn and Jo also were not talking, but that didn’t stop his brother from baby-sitting while Kailyn was at school. Her mom suggested she go to the courthouse to get a custody agreement in writing. She tried to call to get information about one, but Isaac distracted her.
Leah and Corey discussed her worries about marriage. Corey said he thought everything would be fine once they were married, and they both agreed they wanted to get married and spend the rest of their lives together. Leah revealed her fear that they would get divorced, just as their parents had. In the end, she decided to take the plunge and got over her cold feet.
Jenelle and Kieffer have exited the honeymoon phase of their relationship and started to fight more. She told her friend Amber what had been going on and pretty much blamed everything on her mother. Look, I know her mom yells a lot and can be annoying, but Jenelle isn’t really innocent and instigates most of their arguments. For example, she went home to talk to her mom about the credit card issues and disagreed on the total amount she owed. Her mom threatened to file charges unless she could pay everything in one lump sum, which Jenelle said she was going to do, but now, without a job, money, or a place to live, she would be unable to do. Jenelle stormed out in dramatic fashion, as usual.
Corey and Leah went to pick out their cake…and Corey was immediately drawn to the camouflage cake. Of course. They tasted cake and went ice skating with some friends later on.
Kailyn tried to study, but little Isaac distracted her again. She ended up going to the school and dropping a Chemistry class she didn’t think she would be able to pass. Then, a few days later, she and her mom went to the courthouse to get the custody paperwork, which she mailed out to Jo right after. I can’t imagine that’s going to go well.
Experiencing similar distractions from a child, Chelsea attempted to study at a coffee shop while Aubree kept running off. While there, Adam called and asked to take Aubree the next day because he hadn’t seen her in two weeks. Afterward, good old Chelsea did some Facebook stalking and discovered he already had a new girlfriend that he’d moved in with. (Let’s face it – where else was he going to live, anyway?) “Whatever tickles your pickle,” Chelsea said. Nice.
Meanwhile, Jenelle tried to get things in her life back in order. She had her school re-issue her Financial Aid check and called her job. She hadn’t shown up to her last two days of work, or called, for that matter, and this girl still expected to have a job. Not smart. Her boss there told her maybe the next time she has a job, she will have the courtesy to call them when she can’t come in. Nice to see she got a dose of reality and actually lost her job.
While Chelsea and Megan had a girls’ day, we saw Adam talking to his new girlfriend, who sided with him on everything. Apparently, she missed the loser memo tattooed to his forehead, just like Chelsea. He told her he’d applied for a job at Wal Mart and was much happier with her than he had been with Chelsea. Suddenly now, he misses Aubree. Are we sure that isn’t just to impress the new girl, Adam? Later on, Chelsea called him to talk and told him he needs to pay child support before he can see Aubree, which he was not happy about. She has a point. Plus, I wouldn’t trust him with taking care of a child on his own.
Leah and her mom drove three hours to go to Ali’s “second opinion” appointment, and Leah was frustrated that they weren’t getting more answers. The next person they would need to see is a Geneticist. Corey finished up some last minute wedding details and tried on his tuxedo with the guys…who are all wearing matching camouflage vests. Maybe he was serious about that cake…
Jenelle sat in her car, unsure of where she was going to sleep. Her mom went to see her lawyer to find out what to do about Jenelle stealing her credit cards. She discovered it would actually be more detrimental to press charges against Jenelle because it would make things more difficult for her to get a job in the future. She went home and called Jenelle and told her she could stay there for the night. When the two talked in the morning, her mom told her she never would have taken the credit cards if it weren’t for Kieffer and she should stop seeing him. For once, Jenelle sat and listened instead of storming out of the house.
Next week is the season finale already – my, how time flies! It looks like Jenelle is going to jail, Leah and Corey are finally tying the knot, Chelsea’s dad might have to call the cops on Adam, and Kailyn and Jo are headed to court for a custody battle.
