Have you seen movies like Step Up, Stomp the Yard etc. and just wondered how on earth they found all of those talented dancers? How about who is behind the choreography of your favorite music videos and television shows?
Wel,l the other day I got my answer as I was sent an exclusive invitation to attend the 10 year anniversary party for McDonald Selznick Associates, the agency focused on representing the most creative and innovative artists in the dance, music, film and theatrical worlds. Whether setting up a tour for Beyonce, Britney Spears and Rhianna, or securing talent for the latest music video for Paula Abdul, Madonna, Usher or Janet Jackson; MSA provides the resources for unprecedented acts.
So, if you’re into dance and want the best, the MSA Agency is the agency to go to if you want people to remember your performance.
Anyways, back to the party. I got there pretty early and got in without any problems. While there, I devoured some of the complimentary food and drinks before meeting with the PR folks in charge of the event. Boulevard 3 was where the festivities took place. It’s a club I’ve frequented in the past for launch events, fashion shows and the like.
I spoke to a delightful PR rep named Bliss. Yes, thats her real name and I saw her credit card as proof. I asked to see her drivers license and social security, but I remembered that days at the DMV were over. The thing is she was a breath of fresh air in Hollywood as she was down to earth and easy to have a normal none hollywood discussion with and that is always delightful. My first of many celebrity sightings was former “Idol” judge, Paula Abdul, who had arrived to enjoy the party. The host of “Live to Dance” was looking stunning as always.
But the highlight of the entire event must have been the performances that occured every 30 minutes. The one that I enjoyed the most was the Cirque du Soleil performance. The eclectic dance troupe was simply magnificent in the way they performed accompanied by some truly awesome music. This performance reminded me of the Cirque du Soleil show that I had seen in Las Vegas, which took the breath away from the hundreds of people enjoying the celebration.
The event was also attended by a who’s who of the music industry including Sharon Harris from Summit Entertainment, Michael Rotenberg of 3 Arts Entertainment and Troy Williams from Warner Brothers. I felt like a million bucks after finally making their list of VIP guests.
It was definitely an event not to be missed and I enjoyed the entire evening. Everything at the party was high profile despite a very limited media presence, which is always great. I will continue looking out for what the MSA agency has in store for us. If tonight was any indication, I’m expecting big things.
If you want to get in the dance mood, why don’t you go over to msaagency.com and see what this agency is all about. Also, don’t forget to tune into Hollywood Unwrapped Radio on Friday at 7pm to get the full scoop of the party and everything else happening in tinseltown.
