Few and far between are the opportunities Boise gets to see great bands perform on more than one night in our fair city. This weekend music fans get just such an opportunity when Escape The Fate hits town on February 27th and March 1st at the Knitting Factory. The second show was originally slated for the Knitting Factory’s Spokane, WA location, but Fate is smiling on the Treasure Valley it seems. The band is out in support of their self-titled debut major-label release, which landed in November to great reviews. The band is about to wrap up their Dead Masquerade North American Tour.
Also on the bill will be, Alesana, Motionless In White, Get Scared, and Drive A.
The band formed in 2004 and have released previous EP’s and two full length album’s on Epitaph before being picked up by DGC/Interscope.
Bassist Max Green who recently completed a stint in rehab had this to say about the band’s debut for their new label: “This record is the cure for the modern day music epidemic, We are wiping the slate clean and re-writing rock music as you know it.”
Vocalist Craig Mabbitt looked to his life experiences for inspiration in writing for the new record, stating, “I wanted to write about every emotion that you can get from life, everything that kind of happens, every kind of story I’ve heard that really upset me.”
Mabbit believes this record is the defining point in the band’s sound and that previous efforts have been stepping stones to bring the band to this point. Working with producer Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Bullet For My Valentine, Hollywood Undead) helped in that process. The band allows that Gilmore helped the Escape The Fate “find themselves, musically speaking. Mabbitt also praised Gilmore for his ability to perfect the album without affecting their music
Fans and newcomers can decide for themselves when the band hits town tomorrow night.
