Two Cedartown residents have been charged in the December 10, 2010 armed robbery of a convenience store.
Just before midnight on December 10th, 2010, Polk County 911 received a call in reference to an armed robbery the Parachon Mini Mart, located at 1999 Rockmart Highway 278 (formerly Dawson’s store).
The clerk had been assaulted with a gun and suffered superficial injuries to the back of his head and right ear. The store clerk advised he was pistol whipped about three times by the suspect. The suspect left the store on foot with the store owners black brief case which held an undisclosed amount of cash and other documents. A blanket search of the area was executed by police, however, the suspect managed to escape. (see article)
Jump to January 19th, 2011 and Polk County 911 received a call in reference to shots fired in the area of Cobb Street in Cedartown. A black Ford F-150 truck was spotted leaving the area of Cobb Street pretty fast. Police units were on the lookout for a black Ford F-150. Within minutes, a traffic stop was initiated on highway 278 at County Loop Road with the suspect vehicle
Based on the evidence at hand and witness accounts, the suspect identified as Noe Martinez was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault and felony armed robbery. The passenger April Lynn Womack was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear.(see article)
Martinez has remained in the Polk County jail since that date. April Womack was released the same day. She was arrested again on January 29th for violating her probation and she was released on February 2, 2011.
On February 8, 2011, Womack and Martinez received charges related to the armed robbery of the Parachon Mini Mart on December 10, 2010 and Womack was arrested again. Both subjects are currently incarcerated.
Noe Martinez, age 28, of 1981 Rockmart Highway in Cedartown has been charged with felony armed robbery, felony aggravated assault, felony possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, felony terroristic threats battery,felony false imprisonment and felony financial transaction card fraud.
April Lynn Womack, age 25, of 1981 Rockmart Highway in Cedartown has been charged with being a party to the crime of armed robbery and a party to the crime of transaction card fraud. Her charges are misdemeanors.
