Bridal shows may seem a little daunting in the first instance, however they should be treated as an important part of your wedding planning process. Where else would you get a chance to meet and greet the wedding professionals in your area. Often held in function venues, you not only get to preview what’s trending in weddings, but to sample cakes, view limos and schmooze with photographers. One stop shopping, if you will. There is an abundance of shows in the Manchester and New England Area during the January and February show season.
For Manchester check out the show at The Radisson, where one lucky bride will get to go home with an all-inclusive honeymoon package for free!

Where to get other event dates
New England Bride magazine is a handy tool with lists of vendors and professionals in your area. Also New England Bridal Expo website has updated lists of events and times. Visit all of the shows and you will get to see a vast array of the options open to you and also to see the venues first hand. The shows are usually free if you preregister and brides often receive swag bags of goodies provided by the vendors and exhibitors.
Meet other brides
One of the benefits of attending the shows is that you can meet and talk with other brides who are going through the same experiences as you. It’s worth swapping some ideas and even just listening to others and their views can point you towards the vendors that would be the perfect fit for you.
The wedding professionals are there for a reason. They want you to book with them. Part of the interview process should be their willingness to answer your questions. Often they have informational packs and examples of their work that you can peruse. This is a good time to see if you like their style, their customer service skills and of course their professionalism. If you are nervous about asking questions, make a list, it does help keep you focussed.
Most shows will have a small fashion show, music provided by a local vendor and foods to sample. This is a wedding showcase, it should help you feel what your wedding might be like. Use it to see what you like and don’t like and take those feelings with you to your planning.
Take friends and family along with you, sometimes there is a small fee for guests, but it’s worth it to hear their opinions and to have some emotional backup. Gather your information and reap the benefits of having the research work done for you. It’s your wedding day, make sure you surround yourself with professionals who can keep it running smoothly and stress free.
