This Valentine’s Day, spend time with your partner at New York’s museums, which are offering special deals and treats all weekend long.
The Museum of Sex is hosting their Seductive Valentine’s Weekend. With admission to the museum (their new exhibition is titled Comics Stripped!), guests will also be offered a one-day supply of their Aphrodisian Nutrients. The Oralix Café will serve various aphrodisiac drinks and desserts. Open from Friday through Monday, the museum will extend their hours from 10am to 10pm to allow for maximum enjoyment.
MoMA is offering romantic Tours for Two, which allows guests to enjoy the museum after closing hours in an intimate tour of masterworks of the collection. Offered Sunday and Monday, the night will include wine and cupcakes by candlelight before an art historian takes the couple on a personal tour. Stops on the romantic $200-per-couple tour include Claude Monet’s Water Lilies and Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night, among others. The tour ends with a walk-through of the newly opened Picasso: Guitars 1912-1914 exhibition. For more information, visit www.moma.org/visit/plan/valentines.
Experience Romance Under the Stars at the American Museum of Natural History this Valentine’s Day. Couples will enjoy a cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres and chocolate-covered-cherries as the Josh Rutner Quartet plays romantic tunes in the background. The night ends with a tour of the night sky in the Hayden Planetarium. To buy the $75-per-person tickets, visit www.amnh.org/calendar/event/Romance-Under-the-Stars/.
