Right about now is when Long Islanders begin to plan their summer vacations. As we begin to thaw from one of the coldest and snowiest winters on record, looking forward to a sunny, warm Walt Disney World vacation surely helps. And so does Disney…
Walt Disney World is known for discounting their resort rooms and vacation packages certain times each calendar year. This includes mid-August, before school starts and including the week before Labor Day- when a majority of Long Islanders take summer vacation. This is also where an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner is helpful. These planners should all be graduates of the Disney College of Disney Knowledge and can help you plan all of your dining, park tours, and recreation (tee times for golf, boat rentals, etc) during your stay. Authorized Disney Vacation Planners are generally aware of specials or discounted rates before the general public so they should be prepared in advance when they need to make changes to save you money if and when a discount code is released for your travel dates. These planners can also help you make the right choice when deciding on a resort or meal plan. Their knowledge of the resort is valuable- so use it and don’t be afraid to ask questions or talk to them about any concerns you may have about your vacation.
Discounts for this summer’s travel include when you purchase a non-discounted 4 night, 4 day Magic Your Way vacation package at a Disney resort during certain dates kids ages 3-9 stay and play for free! Another great deal is a room only discount where you can also add park tickets and the dining plan if you chose. You can save up to 40% on your Disney resort room stays from August 14ththrough October 1, 2011.To get an idea of this savings, regularly you can reserve a deluxe studio in Disney Old Key West Resort on August 14thfor $354 full price, with the discount it brings the cost down to $213! The remaining balance is due 45 days before your travel begins. For cancellations from 5 to 45 days prior to your arrival, a $100 cancellation fee will be charged. A $200 cancellation fee applies if you cancel less than 5 days before arrival. Vacation packages must be paid in full 45 days before your arrival. If you make a change to your reservation less than 45 days before arrival that results in a change of price (such as applying a discount code, adding the dining plan, changing resorts or adding/dropping days), a $50 change fee will be assessed. For room only reservations you are required to place a deposit equal to one night’s rate plus tax in order to secure your room. The remaining balance is due at check in. Should you need to cancel your vacation, there is no penalty for canceling as long as you do so 5 or more days before your arrival. For cancellations less than 5 days prior to arrival, a $100 cancellation fee will be assessed.
