Warriors of Wrestling is an independent wrestling promotion that has been taking the East Coast by storm since December of 2007. It’s a company that has everything to offer. They not only have an excellent staff in promoter Joey B, booker Jake Gomez and head trainer William Ferrara, but they also have the most diverse locker room you’d ever be lucky enough to find.
You name it they have it: luchadors, violent tag teams, a Latin lover, people who come back from the dead, preachers, a No Limits Division that people would go through (flaming) hoops to get to, and a Heavy Weight Champanionship that is now infamous for those who have worn it and those who are vying for the chance to wear it next.
In the last three years, they’ve hosted 31 shows everywhere from Staten Island (Funstation USA at 3555 Victory Blvd.) to Brooklyn where they had their momentous “Empire State of Mind,” which featured a devastating death match between two of the most violent and aggressive tag teams on the indies: The American Nightmare, made up of Logan Black and Dirt Bag Dan, vs.the now-disbanded Society of Ventrue, which featured Preacher John Cannon and The Nineteenth Key Jasin Karloff. The match left all everyone in the venue awestruck and all you could hear was fans chanting “W.O.W” and “holy (cow)” as these four men tore the house down.
Brooklyn was also the location for their three-year anniversary show, Final Solution, back in December. Never a promotion that will leaving you wanting more, the show was one for the record books. Not only did it feature an eight-man match for the Heavy Weight Title, but you also saw the dead rise. A recently-deceased Preacher John Cannon came back from the dead to exact revenge on his old tag partner, Jasin Karloff.
But you can’t forget where the Warriors got their start — South River, NJ. They made their debut with “Warriors Unleashed” in December of 2007 with a packed card booked to display exactly what the promotion is known for — it’s unique and strong talent, it’s fearless wrestlers and a product you won’t find anywhere else.
WIth all that Warriors of Wrestling has to offer, it’s no surprise their fans are the most loyal, genuine fans you’d ever meet. It’s refreshing to see the kids who go up to the wrestlers’ post show for an autograph or the parents who shake the wrestlers’ hands because they made their kid believe in a sport most people don’t believe in anymore. They come to every show and idealize these guys as they put their bodies on the line to give everyone a show they deserve.
Wrestling as a whole has seems to have become strictly based around entertainment value or what will draw in money. This promotion proves you can have the intense entertainment value along with raw genuine talent and prove wrestling is far from fake (the injuries, the blood, the pain, all very much real) with an impressive product that will blow away even the most jaded wrestling fan.
