What ever happened to being responsible for one’s own actions?
Well that depends upon who you are and if you watch TV! We have all heard the commercials hurt at the job, in an accident, CALL 1-800, implying your best action is for you to take action and legally sue, NO matter if you were at fault or not. The hope is to intimidate your opponent and force them to make a sizable cash settlement while avoiding costly legally fees. The sort of suit no matter how fibrous it may seem to others is popularly known as, “The Right to Sue, wherein anyone can sue anyone, even YOU!
What most people don’t realize legal suits in America have far reaching consequences on your daily life, from the products we buy, health care costs, added medical test we now receive, homeowners & car insurances and whether we get a JOB! With attorneys constantly advertising and threating to bring suit no matter how honorable the cause maybe, the funds received very rarely go towards correcting the actual problem. But instead, may eliminate a well-intended products from the market that may of offered comfort to others or destroy a companies reputation as well as it finicial base, when only a minor adjustment to the product was necessary to correct the problem. For those who are currently seeking employment in a tough economy you too may have been affected by over abundant legal suits, that have dissuaded businesses from investing into areas of possible high legal suits in America! For most “respectable” business if given the option to invest where they could conduct business without the “constant” threat of legal action, they probably wouldn’t invest in America!
For Kathy Cruz now known as the fountain lady that fell into the fountain while texting, thank God she wasn’t driving her car, but my guess is she probably has never texted while she was driving. It appears to me if I was her I would sue, sue, sue the maker of the phone for not having installed a warning device that would of text her, Caution Fountain Ahead!! Don’t stop there obviously it was the makers of her eye wear as well, as to why she couldn’t see the fountain or was it the floor she walked on should had signs, “Approaching Fountain!” Finally she should sue her cloths manufacture that got wet when they shouldn’t as well as her hair stylist, but these are only my opinion. A final note for Miss Kathy Cruz be sure to tell the courts know your pending 5 felony charges involving stolen merchandise and maybe it was possible you had only tripped over the some of the loot you had purchased!
I just hope she gets everything coming to her!
