Does your office have what it takes to be the Wellest Workers in Tallahassee? Find out at the Tallahassee Fitness Festival on January 22, when the officemate teams participating in this year’s WellQuest Challenge are announced. The deadline for team applications has been extended to Monday, January 10, 2011.
Working Well, Inc., a Tallahassee-based organization providing resources for workplace wellness, is proud to announce a second year of its 90-day health and fitness challenge that pits office against office to see which team of co-workers can become the healthiest with the help of local fitness facilities.
Requirements for application are simple: participating teams must be members of Working Well, Inc., be comprised of four co-workers with a desire to improve their overall health, and submit a completed application and $150 non-refundable application fee by December 31, 2010. Teams will be announced at the Tallahassee Fitness Festival on Saturday, January 22, 2010 and the challenge will begin on the spot!
Once the challenge kicks off, each team will undergo assessments of body composition by volunteers from the Florida State University College of Human Sciences and be randomly assigned to a Tallahassee fitness facility, which will donate memberhip and/or personal training services to their assigned team for 60 days. After 60 days of working with a personal trainer, each team will have 30 days to put their knowledge to use on their own and sprint to the finish! In May, the teams will be reunited to repeat the body composition assessments that were performed in January. The teams that experience the highest percentage of overall improved health will earn the title of Tallahassee’s Wellest Workers!
In last year’s challenge, teams representing the City of Tallahassee; Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic; GTO, Inc; Fringe Benefits Management Company; Leon County Schools; and Elbit Systems duked it out and crowned “The Spare Tires,” of Tallahassee’s Parks and Recreation Department, the winners.
WellQuest is brought to you by BodyTrac Health and Fitness, Boot Camps to Go, Fit & Functional, Gold’s Gym/Women’s World, Good Friends, Impact Health and Fitness, Premier Health and Fitness, and Sweat Therapy through the generous donation of their facilities, classes, and personal training services.
