What inspires you?
In answer to the question what inspires you several responses are noted here. Lori Frederick says her dog Jasmine is her inspiration. Eve Jackson states that her children inspire her to keep doing her best so that they will grow up and do their best. Michelle Druhan says that Joyce Meyer inspires her by applying the bible to modern day life. She says that Joyce relates to her in a way that makes her feel like she is not alone in her daily dilemmas.
2 Corinthians 13:11 says Encourage one another. Be of one mind and live in peace.
1 Thessalonians 4:11 Encourage one another with these words – talking about the coming of Jesus to take home his faithful saints.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 Encourage one another and build each other up. – talking about living rightly as a child of light and not succumbing to the darkness (or the lifestyle that was prevalent in society around them).
There are many things in life that can inspire us. Music, family, pets, falling in love. These are great things but they are all temporary. Our lives on earth are temporary. James 4:14 – You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. None of us wants to go through this life alone. We all need hope. There are so many exhortations in the word that tell us to encourage one another. That is because God knows that life is difficult and his design for humankind is that we do not go through it alone.
The bible says in Romans 5:8 that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. He did not wait for us to be perfect or to do good deeds or to love others the way that he did. It simply says he died for us and we are sinners. Now that is a man you can trust. Why did Jesus die for us? Why do we need saving? We need saving because sin separates us from God. It is impossible for God to be united with a person who’s sin is not covered in the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus is the covenant with God that was freely given for us, human beings as sinners. It was given so that we would have the opportunity to take hold of that gift and be redeemed to our creator.
The next time you feel unloved or alone remember that Jesus loves you. He loves you with his blood and his life of sacrifice. He is more than a wimpy looking picture that religious people tote around. He is not that man portrayed petting lambs and looking sugary sweet. He is bloody and raw. He loved with his life. He is more powerful than death and more attractive than sin. If you allow him to lead you to him your life can be full and rich. You are not alone.
