Let’s face it. There are so many destructive issues pummeling the family in today’s society. Like never before, kids are dealing with overt sexual peer pressure, bullying that has now gone viral, predators that target individuals both old and young through the medium of social networks and chat rooms, not to mention what occurs in classrooms, offices, and school yards around the country. Not only are the children under attack but so are the parents. Is it any wonder that we fear for the very safety of our family and children? Or that when one of the individuals in the family unit becomes a target, the whole family begins to suffer?
Add to all that trauma, the possibly astronomical cost of family therapy that may, by necessity, go on for years, and most parents begin to cringe at the thought of allowing any family member to walk out the front door of the family home. For families in the Southern California area, however, there is a glimmer of hope.
WEtv, in partnership with ISH Entertainment, are bringing a new show to television and a new hope to area families. Featuring Dr. Tara Fields (who appeared on Oprah, Dr. Phil, and CNN), a noted Licensed Family Therapist who resides in the SoCal area, FIX MY FAMILY airs in early 2011 and offers local families the insight and expertise of Dr. Fields as she spends a week in the home with the afflicted family, counseling them and helping them overcome such things as bullying, addictions, marital and sibling strife, and other issues that are tearing at the very fabric of the family unit. The upcoming production hopes to offer a forum that will not only help the showcased families but also families across the country who are dealing with similar issues in their own homes. Dr. Fields will apply considerate, insightful and direct counseling to the afflicted individual(s) and the family members in a manner that ensures that the whole family unit is treated.
In this day and age, we could all use an outside view and a helping hand to help our families traverse the obstacles that we now face in this day and age. Dr. Fields has a strong grasp on what can be done to help those struggling with the pressures of today that affect the family as a whole. Do you feel that your family could be benefited by Dr. Field’s expertise? Auditions are being scheduled right now for showcase families. If your family is struggling or you just want to ensure that you are doing everything you can to protect your family and your marriage relationships, you need to tune in to FIX MY FAMILY when it airs. Remember, an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure.
