Something about the word free, brings to mind the word fly. As if to be free, we must be able to fly. Like the birds, like angels we picture in our minds, it is the wings they have that make them able to fly. When God created us, He did not give us wings to fly, but i do think His intention was to give us freedom to fly, in our thoughts and imagination.
If we use our imagination, we can be wherever we want to be, and do whatever we want to do. It’s all about using your creativity to allow you to take you to places you’ve never been. Explore, and don’t be afraid. If you fail, try again, and if you fall, get back up. It’s only in taking chances, with the freedom God gave us to experience what otherwise we may miss.
We live in a land of the free. We have freedom of speech and we have free will. Take advantage of these things, use them and see what happens. Sometimes we look back at our past and become afraid, afraid to take chances for fear of the unknown. We don’t want to risk being hurt again and would rather remain still. It isn’t until we let go, be willing to take our feet off the ground, that we can experience the feeling of freedom. Practice accepting and being grateful for the things God may be putting in your life on purpose. Enjoy it, take a chance and allow yourself the freedom to accept the blessings God is waiting to give you.
Picture yourself with wings. Picture yourself flying over all the adversities and obstacles in your life that have seemed to keep you stuck. Things that have prevented you from rising higher. Enjoy the flight and see where the freedom to fly takes you. Trust that God knows where He is taking you and the reasons why.
Don’t let the weight of your problems keep you grounded. Ask God to remove the weight of your cares and concerns, to deal with them and take care of them, so that you can allow yourself the freedom to let go and fly, knowing that God will sustain you. While you are flying around and exploring, God is taking care of all you worries and concerns. Be willing to open yourself up to experience the gift of freedom. We may not have wings, but we can still fly; In our thoughts and in prayer, the sky’s the limit.
May God bless you!
