Ron Larson has done it well, owner, chef, and creative mind behind Strip steak house in Avon. Strip brings together a classic yet modern approach to dining. Set in the historic Ewers Barn at Olde Avon Village, this old fashioned appearance says nothing of the treasures inside. Being that this is an article focusing on Strip’s cocktail selection, we’ll refrain from mentioning how amazing the food is (hands down, best seen thus far). Now, back to the topic at hand, cocktails.
Now strip has the best selection of liquors of any establishment visited. No question. With practically every liquor, from ultra premium Stoli Elit Vodka, and Hendrick’s Gin, to the more common Three Olives and that whole gamut of frequently seen liquors. Now on to the specifics, if you’re drinking vodka on the rocks or a gin and tonic, you’ve already heard what you needed, but for the rest of you cocktail sippers, Strip also has unique libations that are sure to suit your needs. Aside from an assortment of delectable beers and wine, Strip’s specialty drink selection is host to some very delicious cocktails. From the Very Berry martini, to the Stripteas, to the Tickle Me Pink, everyones tastes are represented.
For this piece though, we chose to sample the Reese’s PBtini and the Smoretini. Now, the PBtini, featuring Stoli Vanil, Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, cream, and Reese’s peanut butter, is a must try. This martini tasted just like a pureed Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, with a splash of vodka, amazing creation indeed. Despite the fact Strip has a completely separate drink list for after dinner, this sweet chocolate peanut butter collaboration is great pre-meal, or afterwards as a dessert.
Next, was the Smoretini. This drink was found on the dessert menu, which also features some mouth watering desserts using homemade ingredients. Using Pinnacle Whipped Cream Vodka, Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, a splash of cream, and garnished with a graham cracker rim and marsh mellows floated on the top, this is definitely a dessert drink. Sweet, chocolatey, and heavy, almost like eating cake, or better yet, smores! Not much to say about this drink, it is pretty self explanatory, but just know it is delicious, and if your torn between options, this should definitely tip the scales, but save for after dinner, because you don’t want to fill up before you dine on some of the most amazing meat ever cooked.
Check out Strip’s website prior to visiting (above hyper-link attached to the word Strip in the second line) because their hours vary, and reservations are recommended, but once your in, sit back, relax, enjoy the atmosphere and the amazing cuisine, but don’t forget your cocktail!
Till next time, Cheers mates.
