Over the amazing Mexican buffet at La Fonda del Bosque restaurant in the historic Barelas neighborhood, a group of young nonprofit professionals met to update their peers on their current work and to ask each other questions like “is your organization diverse.”
The group of young people are all apart of the Young Nonprofit Professional Network of Central New Mexico, which is a local branch of the national Young Nonprofit Professional Network, an association that “promotes an efficient, viable, and inclusive nonprofit sector that supports the growth, learning, and development of young professionals. Unlike other organizations and projects focusing on the “next generation” of nonprofit leaders, YNPN is operated at both the local chapter and national levels entirely for and by these emerging leaders.”
The group featured a diverse mix of young nonprofit professionals, from college work-study individuals just starting their non-profit careers to executive directors of established organizations. The lunch served its purpose well, to bring young nonprofit professionals to gether to grow and learn.
The Young Nonprofit Professional Network of Central New Mexico holds this lunch every 3rd Wednesday from 12:30 – 1:30. If you are a young noprofit professional and are looking for a great way to network and build a peer group, join YNPN at their next luncheon. This is a great way to learn what others are doing and to help you advance your career.
Success is the result of realizing your own potential. Greatness results from helping others to achieve theirs. Why not be great?
